All- we wanted to share the year-round club tryout information so you can pass it on to your swimmers!
Year-Round Swim Club Tryouts
The summer swim season may just be getting underway, but year-round swim clubs will be holding tryouts soon, including the Annapolis Swim Club (ASC), Bayside Aquatics (BAY), Severna Park Stingrays (SPRC), YMCA (SPY) and Naval Academy Aquatic Club (NAAC). See below for the tryout dates:
Annapolis Swim Club (ASC)
ASC will be holding tryouts on the following dates:
- Thursday June 27th
- Thursday July 11th
- Sunday July 14th
Registration is required and more information about the club can be found on the ASC website.
Bayside Aquatics (BAY)
Bayside will be holding tryouts on Friday July 19th. Registration is required and more details can be found on the Bayside Aquatics website.
Naval Academy Aquatic Club (NAAC)
NAAC will be holding tryouts on Sunday July 7th and Sunday July 14th. Registration is required and more details can be found on the NAAC website.
SPY/YMCA Swimming (SPY)
Tuesday, July 2nd, July 16th and July 23rd at the Severna Park Community Center
- 10 and Under Swimmers: 5:00 to 5:45 p.m.
- 11 and Over Swimmers: 5:45 to 6:30 p.m.
Friday , July 12th at the Severna Park Community Center
- 10 and Under Swimmers: 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.
- 11 and Over Swimmers: 5:15 to 6:00 p.m.

A few things for families to consider as they look at year-round swimming:
Remember when trying out that your family is also assessing whether the team is a good fit for YOU! Considerations may include: - Drive time & traffic patterns during projected practice times - Assessment of program commitment requirements like # of mandatory attendance/meet participation and volunteer requirements - Cost. Annual enrollment considerations, gear expectations, travel meet frequency and its associated time/financial investment - Facility. Cleanliness and accessibility - Team Culture & Coaching: If possible, good to shadow visit a practice and see the program in action. Are kids enjoying themselves and improving skills in an actively coached environment? |
